Eddie Cibrian's Dimples

Eddie Cibrian's Dimples

Because c'mon! Shame on Invasion's slowburn peril for not providing them a more frequent showcase.

Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller

He's my boyfriend. He is. No, he just is. He's all green-eyed, widow's-peaked, melting-pot hotness and oiled-massage voice. He's it.

What's Japanese For "Bitches?"

Teenage girls. What can you say?

Yesterday, two little Whitney Young magnet schoolers got on my Blue Line train. They were cute, sporty-preppy girls and were chatting away about some boy one of them likes. Girl #1 said he'd for sure gotten on the same train as them, so she called him up on her mobile and told him which car she was on. When she rang off, she told Girl #2 that The Boy was noncommittal about coming up to talk to them. They were both put off by that response.

Then they start conversing in Japanese.

In case you've never seen such a thing, two middle-class white girls animatedly conversing in Japanese is really obnoxious. I'm all for learning exotic foreign languages -- Man cannot live on Spanish, French and German alone -- but, dude. Keep it to yourselves, white girls!

Then The Boy arrived with a big smile and an exuberant "Hey!" Girls #1 and #2 looked at him and...wait for it...continued conversing in Japanese. They ignored The Boy completely, except when they were obviously talking about him. He took it in stride at first, then started saying things like, "So you're just gonna keep talking in Japanese?"

And they did, of course. On and on and on. Eventually, Girl #1 asked him to sit down next to her, but that didn't stop her and Girl #2 from prattling on while he sat there looking at them like they were aliens.

When I got off the train at Jackson, I really felt like saying to The Boy, "Teenage girls are idiots, kid. They'll grow out of it." But I didn't because do they? Girls like that? It doesn't seem to me they do.

So, in closing: Baka? Korosu!

The Cool of Me

  1. New naughty librarian glasses.

  2. Freakin' sweet t-shirt.

  3. I make a mean hamburger.

1 lb. ground sirloin, ground turkey, whatevs
    3 or 4 shallots, chopped
    1/4 c. worcestershire sauce
4.25 oz. can of chopped or sliced black olives
1/2 c. shredded mozzarella or italian blend cheese

Mash it all up together in a bowl, form burgers and don't cook them too much. Salt and pepper to taste while cooking.

Ch-Ching $$ Ch-Ching

Wow. It's been about a thousand years (or one redundancy) since I updated this thing.

I've never been good at keeping journals.

I meant to write about my stint in Boston as au pair Inga, but when I got back I was just way too depressed and in baby withdrawal to actually do it. Who thought I could get to like a baby that much in 15 days? I was all sniffly walking to the T on the Tuesday. Even Supernanny chokes up when leaving an assignment, though, so I'm in good company.

I could write about my future home of Monterey, California -- The Most Beautiful Place, Like, Ever -- my trial pair of contact lenses, or my sorta kinda job search, but I'm not feeling any of it right now. In the place of actual content like that, I've decided to provide you with a list of the things I've spent money on since returning from The Most Beautiful Place, Like, Ever so that you may better know me and my truly exciting, big city life.

Read 'em and weep:
  • Too much tea from Urban Tea Lounge, including one cup each of Yunnan and the flavor du jour which was something with cranberry, I think. Also, an ounce each of mint leaves and blueberry green tea leaves. I love tea!

  • The roast lamb dinner from Andie's with basmati rice and steamed veggies. A chocolate crepe with walnuts for dessert.

  • One gallon of organic 2% milk, organic romaine lettuce and organic broccoli slaw from Jewel.

  • One ticket to Sin City. Benicio steals the movie (fucking natch).

  • Seaweed snacks, chocolate rocks, Pocky and ginseng hard candy from Kawaii Na.

  • Used, paperback copies of The Odyssey, The Bell Jar and Horseman, Pass By.

  • A pretty, beaded book thong.

  • A french press, a coffee grinder, coffee grinder brush and one pound of organic Intelligentsia breakfast blend. I am WIRED.

  • Some cat toys, a pair of tongs and a spatula.

  • An eye exam (including brand new field of vision test!), new frames and lenses. ETA Tuesday!

  • New England scrod dinner special with baked mac & cheese, a cup of coffee and a side of rock melon at the Melrose Diner.

  • A natural lime essence litter box odor absorber.

  • An afternoon snack of jasmine tea and a crepe with honey and fresh raspberries. I love crepes!

  • Two bottles of Perrier and a Doubleshot.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something but don't you feel like you know me a lot better after reading that?

I also tried and failed to buy a pair of Pumas. You're, like, totally inside my head right now.
