Eddie Cibrian's Dimples

Eddie Cibrian's Dimples

Because c'mon! Shame on Invasion's slowburn peril for not providing them a more frequent showcase.

Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller

He's my boyfriend. He is. No, he just is. He's all green-eyed, widow's-peaked, melting-pot hotness and oiled-massage voice. He's it.

Various women go into the third floor bathroom here at work to talk on their cellphones. How they get reception in there is beyond me (and Girl-Bart, I'm sure), but that's not the point. When I went into the bathroom just before lunch today, there was a woman talking on her cellphone. In a stall. While she was peeing. In a public bathroom. That has to be some kind of record for not being self-conscious.

Last night I saw the best film released so far this year -- and with not a lot of year left to go, it could possibly be THE best film of the year -- American Splendor. Go see it now. I didn't expect to like it much, since everyone and their uncle has been comparing it to Ghost World which I was super-pumped about and then didn't like. But, it was fantastic, even with Hope Davis in a major role. Yeah, I don't like her either, but Paul Giamatti totally overrules the Hope Davis factor. He's awesome.

So I'm spending my Saturday night at work. Don't be jealous now. And I'm working hard as you can see. I could have spent my Saturday morning at work, but I had too much to drink and too much conversation with Marge last night. Thankfully, she gave me a wake-up call so that I didn't miss Kim Possible or Funky Cops this morning! After cartoons, the cats and I went back to bed, then we read the paper, then we read a book for a while, then we had some ramen, then we watched the mayhem that was Wrigleyville after the Cubs cinched it ... then I came to work. Cost me a $20 cab ride, too, since post-game traffic made the bus an impossible option.

Anyhow, my reason for blogging instead of working: Last night, while I was still drinking claret, (i.e., before the fateful decision to break out the Black Label), I watched Joan of Arcadia which was excellent (and God had a hot, young Christian Slater thing going on!). What more could you want?

I am intimately acquainted with my hamstrings and glutes today after a weekend of doing nothing but sleeping (so much lovely sleeping), watching DVDs, feeding annoyed cats at irregular intervals and punishing myself with the occasional bootcamp workout. Today, I am also wearing the kickass pair of Docs I won in an eBay bidding war the likes of which has never been seen -- okay, not really, but I'm listening to the D, y'all. I call them my space boots, as they are very Kaylee.

So here's something to consider: I noticed on my morning walk to the post office that I'm doing this bizarre, catwalk-model, butt-twitching sashay today. Is it the result of thigh-centric pain? Or did my space boots come complete with their own strut?

Also, apropos of nothing, just a general warning: If you've been trying really hard to remove the F-word from your speech patterns in polite company (i.e., company meetings), do not spend the conscious hours of your weekend watching DVDs that feature Russell Crowe or Colin Farrell as themselves in all their lovely-accented, foul-mouthed glory. Trust me on this one.

However, if you want to watch Crowe sing a ballad with a really unfortunate speech impediment or listen to Farrell talk about tongue sandwiches, carry on.

R.I.P. Johnny Cash. Let's all listen to "A Boy Named Sue" and some "Folsom Prison Blues," shall we? Burn, burn, burn ...

I'm in love with The Waifs. Every last one of them. That's three total. I want to marry them. All of them. Australian citizenship three times over! Plus they're all cute and musical! I'm also more than willing to marry the two featured musicians on the latest album, Up All Night, if they'll have me.

They're reportedly performing in Chicago in November, so I'm going to work on my marriage proposal until then. Wish me luck!
